Connect your site
The one step where we ask for something real.
Three ways in, depending on who built the site. Pick the one that matches, and if none of them does, we do it with you — that is not an upsell, it is twenty minutes on a call.
A line of code Any site you can edit the HTML of
One line in your pages
The most common way in, and the one an agency will pick. The line does nothing for visitors: it loads the editing layer only for people signed in to this workspace.
<script src="https://cdn.sitecharter.com/sc.js"
data-site="konstartgalleri.se"
data-key="sc_live_9f2c41ab88e0" defer></script> Just before the closing head tag, on every page you want to edit. It loads nothing for your visitors — only for people signed in here.
A plugin WordPress, and the usual builders
A plugin that does it for you
For WordPress and the builders that allow plugins. It writes through the site’s own content API, so nothing about your theme or backups changes.
- Install SiteCharter from the plugin directory, or upload the zip.
- Paste this key into its one settings field.
- Come back here. The plugin reports what it can see, page by page.
sc_live_9f2c41ab88e0 The plugin writes through the normal content API, so your theme, cache and backups behave exactly as they did before.
We serve the pages One DNS change, nothing else
We serve the pages for you
For sites nobody can touch any more — the developer has moved on, the login is lost, the code is somewhere in a zip. One DNS record and we sit in front.
Change one record with your registrar
We fetch your pages, keep them cached and serve them with the certificate. Your host stays where it is, and pointing the record back undoes everything in the time DNS takes.
This is the heaviest of the three and the only one that puts us in the path of your visitors. Choose it when nobody can touch the site’s code.
What we can reach
- Read the public pages
- yes
- Write the text you edit
- yes
- Your hosting login
- never asked for
- Anything outside the site
- no
Backing out
Remove the line, deactivate the plugin, or point the record back. The site returns to exactly what it was, because every edit was written into your own content rather than held here.
Staging first
Agencies connect a staging address, prove the edit, then move the same setup to the live one. Both can be connected at once; only one is marked live.
